Gospel Rap Artist B-Fade Signs with Trendency Records

(Nashville, Tenn.) February 23, 2016 – Nashville-based Trendency Records announces the signing of rising west coast gospel rap artist B-Fade to a label and distribution deal. Forthcoming releases will be co-branded on Trendency Records and the artist’s label, Pray Area Records. The California-based artist joins the Trendency roster which includes the rising southern California trio, Keno Camp, as well as backpack rapper Avrex.

Raised in the heart of Oakland, California, Andre Woods (a.k.a. B-Fade) wasn’t immune to the many temptations the streets presented to him. After years of using and selling drugs, as well as many of the other clichés that so profoundly affect urban communities, Andre began to realize the damage he was doing to himself and others. He immersed himself in music as a way to escape the trappings of street life. Ironically, this newfound interest in music pulled him further into that which he was trying to leave behind. Realizing that the only way out of this lifestyle was either death or life in prison, something inside of him knew he had to change. In 2002, Andre Woods found a new life in Jesus Christ. Like a caterpillar emerging from its cocoon, he was miraculously transformed from gangsta rapper into B-Fade, an acronym which stands for “Be Faithful and Dedicated Everyday.”

The upcoming album, All Things Are Possible, features some of today’s hottest rising stars from the Christian Hip-Hop world including V. Rose, Keno Camp, Brvndon P (formerly known as Black Knight) and many more, as well as veterans K-Drama, R-Swift, Heesun Lee and former Trendency artist (and godfathers of the genre), The Gospel Gangstaz. This is an album that’s chock full of big names, ministry-minded lyrics and top shelf production.

Trendency Records’ President David C. Coleman states, “B-Fade is not a man with one foot in and one foot out, so to speak. He is ‘all in.’ He is a man with mature faith, and that faith is exhibited in every facet of his music ministry and life. Trendency Records is honored to partner with a man of such noble character in taking the gospel to the streets.” B-Fade adds, “Pray Area Records believes that Trendency Records is the missing piece of the puzzle. We expect with their strong reputation for marketing coupled with Pray Area Records’ ability to create great quality music, we can achieve maximum results from here on out.”

In celebration of the new partnership, Trendency Records, Pray Area Records and B-Fade are offering a free download containing two tracks from the upcoming release, All Things Are Possible, which is slated for release on April 22, 2016. Trendency Records Announces Signing of Gospel Hip-Hop Artist Avrex

Trendency Records is pleased to announce the signing of gospel hip-hop artist Avrex to a label and distribution deal. The first single, “Going Jesus,” will be releasing October 14th of this year with the full-length, Unleashed, slated for release on February 17, 2015.

Avrex is an emerging gospel hip-hop artist based out of Newport News, Virginia. The rapper started his career in the secular realm and was eventually signed toW.O.L.V.E.S. Entertainment. He released three mix tapes while on the label and, in 2011, scored an underground hit with the song “Think Twice” featuring Gangstarr Foundation‘s Big Shug and Krumb Snatcha. Avrex went on to work with Guru, M-DOT and Termonology and opened for many well-known artists including 50 Cent,Ja Rule, Ashanti, Method Man, The Clipse and many more.

The upcoming Trendency debut, Unleashed, was recorded by Sean Slaughter ofSlaughter Music Group and features tracks with former Cross Movement artist R-Swift as well as K-Drama, Promise, Byron Collinsand Avrex’s crew, The Lycans.Although Unleashed maintains a solid underground feel consistent with his trademark backpack rap style, Avrex is already working on new material which is expected to take him in a whole new direction by incorporating more mainstream musical elements in the vein of V. Rose’s feature with Flame.

Trendency Records president David C. Coleman states, “We’re excited to welcome Avrex to the Trendency family. His past affiliation with secular rap artists brought about an unexpected opportunity after the unfortunate passing of Guru from Gangstarr Foundation.” An album entitled Propaganda produced by DJ Lord Ronand featuring Avrex, Big Shug and others will be released in the near future. All proceeds will be donated to Guru’s son, K.C. Elam. Coleman adds, “While we’re not glorifying Avrex’s roots in secular rap, we see this opportunity as a chance to shine the light of Christ into the life of a young man in need as well as an opportunity to celebrate the redemptive power of Jesus Christ in the life of Avrex. What was old has been made new.”

Avrex will tour in support of Unleashed and is expected to join label mates Keno Camp for west coast dates in support of the full-length.
