(Nashville, Tenn.) February 23, 2016 – Nashville-based Trendency Records announces the signing of rising west coast gospel rap artist B-Fade to a label and distribution deal. Forthcoming releases will be co-branded on Trendency Records and the artist’s label, Pray Area Records. The California-based artist joins the Trendency roster which includes the rising southern California trio, Keno Camp, as well as backpack rapper Avrex.
Raised in the heart of Oakland, California, Andre Woods (a.k.a. B-Fade) wasn’t immune to the many temptations the streets presented to him. After years of using and selling drugs, as well as many of the other clichés that so profoundly affect urban communities, Andre began to realize the damage he was doing to himself and others. He immersed himself in music as a way to escape the trappings of street life. Ironically, this newfound interest in music pulled him further into that which he was trying to leave behind. Realizing that the only way out of this lifestyle was either death or life in prison, something inside of him knew he had to change. In 2002, Andre Woods found a new life in Jesus Christ. Like a caterpillar emerging from its cocoon, he was miraculously transformed from gangsta rapper into B-Fade, an acronym which stands for “Be Faithful and Dedicated Everyday.”
The upcoming album, All Things Are Possible, features some of today’s hottest rising stars from the Christian Hip-Hop world including V. Rose, Keno Camp, Brvndon P (formerly known as Black Knight) and many more, as well as veterans K-Drama, R-Swift, Heesun Lee and former Trendency artist (and godfathers of the genre), The Gospel Gangstaz. This is an album that’s chock full of big names, ministry-minded lyrics and top shelf production.
Trendency Records’ President David C. Coleman states, “B-Fade is not a man with one foot in and one foot out, so to speak. He is ‘all in.’ He is a man with mature faith, and that faith is exhibited in every facet of his music ministry and life. Trendency Records is honored to partner with a man of such noble character in taking the gospel to the streets.” B-Fade adds, “Pray Area Records believes that Trendency Records is the missing piece of the puzzle. We expect with their strong reputation for marketing coupled with Pray Area Records’ ability to create great quality music, we can achieve maximum results from here on out.”
In celebration of the new partnership, Trendency Records, Pray Area Records and B-Fade are offering a free download containing two tracks from the upcoming release, All Things Are Possible, which is slated for release on April 22, 2016. (Nashville, Tenn.) August 20, 2013 – Nashville-based Trendency Records announces the signing of gospel rap group Keno Camp to a label and distribution deal. The group is slated to release its album Riot on January 14, 2014. The first single, “We Here,” will be releasing October 15th of this year.
Keno Camp is a rising young gospel group based out of Compton, California, the city that notoriously gave birth to “gangsta” rap. The die-hard believers fuse the word of God with hip-hop and use it as a vehicle for urban evangelism. The current lineup includes Mario “Escort” Herrera, Gabriel “Gabe” Taylor, and Jesus “Chuy” Herrera, and features guest emcees Terrell “T” Sales and Ronald “Moonie” Robinson throughout the album. Trendency Records President David C. Coleman states, “We’re pleased to announce the addition of Keno Camp to our roster. We first heard of the group through The Gospel Gangstaz and were impressed by what we heard.” He continues, “We’re looking forward to engaging the developmental process and helping the group expand their fan base. We believe they have what it takes to become a major force in gospel rap.” Keno Camp manager Bill Wilson weighs in on the recent signing by stating, “Who would have ever thought a gospel rap group from the city of Compton, California would ever have the opportunity to sign with and work with such a company but, with God, all things are possible.”
Since the inception of the group, Keno Camp has been on fire, mainly touring throughout California, Texas, Colorado and Arizona. The group has linked up on the road with Trendency Records label mates Gospel Gangstaz as well as other gospel rap heavyweights including K-Drama, R-Swift and Young Chosen. Keep an eye out for Keno Camp as they continue to spiral outward from their home location. They will continue to tour extensively with The Gospel Gangstaz in coming months.

(Nashville, Tenn.) July 31, 2013 – Nashville-based Trendency Records announces the signing of the ground breaking Gospel Rap group Gospel Gangstaz to a label and distribution deal. Forthcoming releases will be co-branded on Trendency Records and the group’s label, Camp 8.
California-based Christian rap group Gospel Gangstaz is comprised of former members of the notorious Crips and Bloods gangs. A near-tragic event set in motion a series of events which would turn the world of hip-hop on its virtual head when founder Mr. Solo accepted Christ after almost dying in a gang-related shooting. The reformed gangster met former group member and rival gang member Tik Tokk at church as they teamed up to become prayer partners. Current Gospel Gangstaz member Chille Baby later accepted Christ as a result of Mr. Solo’s conversion and escaped the trappings of the destructive gang lifestyle. The eventuality of those fateful events came to fruition in 1994 when the group released its debut album, Gang Affiliated. The album went on to sell in excess of 350,000 units and set the stage for today’s stable of talented, Christ-centered emcees.
Trendency Records’ President David C. Coleman states, “We’re very excited about this signing and are trusting God has great things in store for The Gospel Gangstaz, Camp 8 and Trendency Records.” He continues, “The guys found some unreleased tracks in their archives, so our short-term plan is to release these hidden gems to the public later this year while the duo work on their next full-length project which will be filled with all new content. We believe the upcoming releases will undoubtedly reaffirm The Gospel Gangstaz as the rightful heirs to the Gospel Rap throne. These guys are truly legit and the public will rediscover just how great they are.” Weighing in on the new label deal, Mr. Solo reveals, “I thank the Heavenly Father for putting us together with a record company that shares the same vision as Camp 8 and The Gospel Gangstaz – to make the very best music for the Kingdom and reach a dying world through the message of the Gospel.” Chille Baby adds, “Together we hope to reach as many people in this world as we can with a message of hope and victory that God has given us through faith.”
In celebration of the new partnership and the reemergence of the group on the national stage, Trendency Records, Camp 8 and The Gospel Gangstaz are offering a free download from the upcoming release, Defender of the Faith, on NoiseTrade.
